SecureMac at MacWorld 2008
Over the past three years, we have noted a drastic change in security education among Mac OS X users. When we first started promoting MacScan, our anti-spyware utility, at MacWorld San Francisco, we found confusion to surround the issue of security for many users. While many users appreciated the proactive approach to security we provided with MacScan, there were an equal number of users who were under the impression that Macs were completely immune to spyware and security threats, and were quite adamant in their beliefs! As the years have passed, we have seen a new trend in security education for OS X, with users taking security much more seriously as new threats are introduced to OS X and the media covers these issues.
MacScan has also evolved over the years to ensure protection against the latest spyware threats, added support to detect over 8000 blacklisted cookies, and added new features such as the ability to schedule automated scans.
As more people learn about Mac security, we’ve realized that households are now looking to protect more than one computer. In response to this new demand, we are pleased to announce the release of our Family Pack pricing. With the MacScan Family Pack, you can protect up to three computers for $49.99, a savings of over 44%.
